NEW YORK: Filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan and showrunner\/executive producer Marti Noxon are working on a scripted pilot project, entitled Proof<\/em>, for Syfy, which has also greenlit a pilot based on John Christopher’s novel <\/span><\/span>The Lotus Cave<\/em><\/span><\/span>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Signs<\/em>, Unbreakable<\/em>) and Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/em>, Mad Men<\/em>) will co-write the project and serve as executive producers. Shyamalan is also slated to direct the pilot, which Universal Cable Productions will produce. The story in Proof<\/em> follows the son of a billionaire tech genius who offers a large reward for anyone who can find proof of life after death, following a tragic accident in which he looses his parents. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Syfy also greenlit Reunion Pictures’ new pilot High Moon<\/em>, adapted from John Christopher’s best-selling novel The Lotus Cave<\/em>. The Halmi Company will distribute the project worldwide outside of Canada. Robert Halmi Sr. will executive produce, along with Bryan Fuller (Hannibal<\/em>, Pushing Daisies<\/em>), Jim Danger Gray (Pushing Daisies<\/em>) and Reunion Pictures’ Matthew O’Connor, Lisa Richardson and Tom Rowe. High Moon<\/em> is set in a future where the countries of Earth have established colonies to mine the moon’s resources.
