BURBANK: Peter Seymour has been promoted to the newly created post of executive VP and chief financial officer at the Disney\/ABC Television Group, reporting directly to Anne Sweeney<\/a>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The move consolidates financial leadership for the entertainment portfolio under one executive. Seymour, who had most recently been serving as executive VP of strategy and research for Disney Media Networks, retains his oversight of strategy development for the company’s worldwide broadcasting and cable business. He also continues his supervision of research, consumer relationship management, media planning and franchise management. Seymour has been with the group since 2005. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sweeney, a co-chair of Media Networks and the president of the Disney\/ABC Television Group, said: “The consolidation of these important functions into one role allows us to streamline decision making and align our strategic goals to better serve the evolving needs of our group. Peter is a proven executive who has a keen understanding of our business and what is needed to continue our momentum and growth.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
