ATLANTA: Bounce TV is adding a second original series to its schedule, with the comedy Uptown Comic <\/em>to launch on June 18 following the premiere of the recently announced sitcom Family Time<\/em>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The new half-hour series will feature stage and skit performances by up-and-comic comics. The show is currently in production, taped in front of a live studio audience at the Uptown Comedy Corner in Atlanta. Joe Torry (Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam<\/em>) hosts. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The show will debut immediately following the series premiere of Bounce TV’s first-ever original, Family Time<\/em>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

"Uptown Comic<\/em> is a fresh new showcase for the next generation of break-out stars, perfectly pairing with Family Time<\/em> to build Monday nights as an original programming destination for Bounce TV," commented Jonathan Katz, Bounce TV’s chief operating officer. "The speed of Bounce TV’s historic growth is only accelerated by the addition of more demo-specific original programming that entertains our viewers while driving value for our affiliates and advertising partners."<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ryan Glover, the president of Bounce TV, said, "Will and Rob have been intimately involved with Bounce TV since the beginning. Our network’s meteoric rise and growth allows us to unleash their unmatched creativity in developing compelling and fresh new original content sooner than we planned."<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

"We envision Uptown Comic<\/em> combining the best elements of Def Comedy Jam<\/em> and In Living Color<\/em>," said Will Packer, executive producer. "We think the series is a great jumping off point as we develop and produce more content for Bounce TV."<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
