LOS ANGELES: NATPE PitchCon returns to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel on June 7 and 8, during which time Oxygen’s The Glee Project<\/em> will be honored with this year’s Innovator Award. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The event, previously known as LATV Fest and now in its second year under the PitchCon banner, will deliver speakers, hands-on sessions, workshops and masterclasses. The two-day event will cover topics such as multiplatform pitching, pitch prep, developing ideas and succeeding as an independent producer. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Innovator Award, which recognizes outstanding achievement in unscripted programming, will be presented to The Glee Project<\/em>. <\/span><\/span>

\n<\/span><\/span> Jason Klarman, the president of Oxygen Media;  <\/span><\/span>
\n
\n<\/span><\/span> Michael Davies and Shauna Minoprio, executive producers from Embassy Row;  <\/span><\/span>
\n
\n<\/span><\/span>Robert Ulrich, casting director and on-air mentor; and Zach Woodlee, choreographer and on-air mentor, will accept the award at a special luncheon and panel on June 8. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“The Glee Project<\/em> represents a truly unique and forward-thinking relationship between the worlds of unscripted and scripted programming and has delivered an exciting twist on talent discovery,” said <\/span><\/span>Rick Feldman, <\/span><\/span>NATPE’s president and CEO. “NATPE is proud to honor this show and everyone associated with its early successes and bright future.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Klarman added: “Ryan Murphy has created a true pop culture phenomenon with Glee<\/em> and The Glee Project<\/em>. Oxygen is proud to be in business with him as the exclusive cable home for both series.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
