Cartel Pictures has tapped former Reel One Entertainment executive Lexi Lewis as director of development.

In her new role, Lewis will be responsible for developing the company’s independent feature films, studio feature films, TV movies and independent TV series. She joins Cartel from Reel One, where she was manager of creative development.

Prior to working for Reel One, Lewis was an executive at Crown Media’s Hallmark Channel, where she developed more than 50 movies and two series. She also spent time in production and development at the Upright Citizens Brigade.

“We’ve been fans of Lexi’s for years since we worked with her at Hallmark,” said Eric Woods, co-CEO of Cartel. “Her experience of overseeing a high volume of projects from development to production makes her a perfect fit to manage our growing development slate. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome this incredible executive to our team.”

Lewis’s appointment comes after a string of other appointments for Cartel, including Stewart Cavanagh as head of unscripted and documentary and Kim Mooney as manager for kids and family.
