LONDON: ITV has commissioned Grant Mansfield\u2019s Plimsoll Productions\u00a0to produce the new series Teach My Pet To Do That<\/em>, hosted by comedian and animal lover Alexander Armstrong.<\/p>\n

Teach My Pet To Do That<\/em>\u00a0will see different types of pets, from horses to chickens to dogs and beyond, trained to pull off all kinds of tricks. Each episode will feature tricks and training tips that pet owners can try out at home, as well as insights into what the stunts reveal about each animal\u2019s intelligence and physiology.<\/p>\n

Audiences will see a pig learning to play football, a horse learning to count and even a rat attempting to skateboard. In each episode, three animals will receive a personalized training session for the same skill and be given ample time to hone their talents before squaring off in a final competition. In addition, Armstrong will present popular pet videos from the internet. The 8×30 show will broadcast on ITV later this year.<\/p>\n

Priya Singh, commissioning editor at ITV, said, \u201cWho knows what hidden talents your own pet may be waiting to dazzle you with! We\u2019re a nation of animal lovers and this entertaining and inspiring series might just bring out the animal genius in all our pets, from\u00a0parrots to poodles to piglets.\u201d<\/p>\n

Karen Plumb, executive producer on the program, added,\u00a0\u201cThe series\u00a0combines the very best viral internet pet clips with buckets of take-home training tips, popular science and fun training challenges.
