LONDON: Naked Entertainment has been commissioned by Channel 4 to produce The Greatest Kids’ Films Ever Made<\/em>, a tentatively titled documentary on how some of the most successful children’s movies were made.<\/p>\n

The 90-minute doc will tell the untold stories behind some of the most popular kids’ films of modern cinema, exploring the history of the genre as well as those in front of and behind the camera. It will feature firsthand accounts, behind-the-scenes footage, breakout moments and a selection of scenes from such hits as Mary Poppins<\/em>, Home Alone<\/em> and Finding Nemo<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Greatest Kids’ Films Ever Made<\/em> has already begun production for broadcast later this year. Naked Entertainment\u2019s Simon Andreae and Tom O\u2019Brien serve as exec producers, with Richard Nash on board as producer and director<\/p>\n

O\u2019Brien, the director of development at Naked Entertainment, said: \u201cWhether you\u2019re 9 or 90\u2014kids\u2019 movies never lose their magic. Their powerful spell brings whole families together for some of our most cherished co-viewing. This Channel 4 film hopes to show our appreciation of that, by chronicling the story of the best and brightest.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jonny Rothery, commissioning editor of formats and music for Channel 4, added: \u201cFrom our very first trip to the cinema to the traditional festive viewing of the family classics, kids\u2019 movies are now part of the furniture. With Spielberg\u2019s successful run of hits, Pixar\u2019s monopoly of animations and everyone\u2019s perennial favorites, the Disney\u2019s sing-along classics, we hope to have something here for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
