LONDON: UKTV’s Dave has ordered a second installment of the political satire\u00a0show Unspun with Matt Forde<\/em> from Avalon Television for broadcast later this year.<\/p>\n

Unspun with Matt Forde<\/em> looks on as the titular comedian discusses the world of politics. The 6×60-minute sophomore season will feature up-to-the-minute analysis of the news agenda, special reports from such guest comedians as Andy Zaltzman and Phil Wang, and music from Forde\u2019s house band MP4. It is slated to begin airing on Dave on Wednesday, March 1, at 10 p.m.<\/p>\n

Forde said: \u201cI’m delighted that Unspun<\/em> will be returning for a second\u00a0[season]\u00a0to Dave. One of the great benefits of Donald Trump’s presidency, the rise of the far-right in Europe and the imminent destruction of all known life is that there’s plenty of material for gags and impressions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richard Watsham, UKTV’s director of commissioning, noted: \u201cAt a time of increasing political uncertainty, Matt Forde\u2019s brilliant brand of political comedy is more important than ever. There\u2019s not enough satire around right now so I\u2019m delighted to be continuing to stretch Dave\u2019s output with a second [season]\u00a0of Unspun<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Steve North, the general manager of Dave, added: \u201cWe are very proud of the series and the brilliant way it\u2019s helped Dave build its reputation for contemporary and topical commissioning.
