{"id":9657,"date":"2017-01-23T12:06:58","date_gmt":"2017-01-23T17:06:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/sky-vision-racks-up-true-crime-sales\/"},"modified":"2017-01-23T14:18:27","modified_gmt":"2017-01-23T19:18:27","slug":"sky-vision-racks-up-true-crime-sales","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/sky-vision-racks-up-true-crime-sales\/","title":{"rendered":"Sky Vision Racks Up True-Crime Sales"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LONDON: Sky Vision has notched up a host of sales for its true-crime programming, with 32 broadcasters across 155 countries picking up titles such as <em>It Takes a Killer<\/em> and <em>Passport to Murder<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Recent sales in the real-life crime space include <em>It Takes a Killer<\/em>, which was acquired\u00a0by both Oxygen in the U.S. and CBS Reality in the U.K. In addition, season two of <em>Justice By Any Means<\/em>, <em>Donal McIntyre&#8217;s Breaking Crime<\/em> and <em>The<\/em> <em>Real NCIS<\/em> were picked up\u00a0by Your TV, also in the U.K.<\/p>\n<p>Sky Vision also secured a high-volume deal with Sky Italia for series such as <em>Demons in the City of Angels<\/em>, as well as Sky Vision Productions&#8217; <em>Passport to Murder<\/em> and <em>Death Row Doctors<\/em>. After adding 24 hours of crime content to its catalog at MIPCOM 2016, Sky Vision is launching additional crime and factual titles this January. These include <em>I Knew My Murderer<\/em>. The 104&#215;30-minute true-crime series investigates the stories of killers who knew their victims. Another new title is the half-hour series <em>Mysteries of the Unexplained<\/em>, exploring the world&#8217;s most haunting and perplexing phenomena.<\/p>\n<p>Leona Connell, the director of sales at Sky Vision, remarked, &#8220;We know that the true-crime genre has had outstanding success in the U.S. for a few years now. This genre is now also very much in demand in the U.K., where we have done a number of deals with specialist factual channels, pay and free.
