He will be based in the company\u2019s L.A. office, where he will report directly to Howard Lee, the executive VP of development and production at TLC.<\/p>\n<p>Sarlanis joins TLC from ABC, where he served as VP of alternative series and specials. He was responsible for developing new shows\u00a0such as <em>To Tell the Truth<\/em> and <em>BattleBots<\/em>. In addition, Sarlanis spearheaded Disney\/ABC Television Group\u2019s alternative department in the international format marketplace.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to his time at ABC, Sarlanis was VP of original programming and series development at E! Entertainment Television. In that position, he had creative oversight of series such as <em>The Soup<\/em>, <em>Fashion Police <\/em>and <em>Keeping Up with the Kardashians<\/em>.
