NEW YORK: HISTORY is commemorating the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor with a weekend of original programming dedicated to the events that brought the U.S. into World War II.<\/p>\n
Among the original specials slated to air the weekend of December 3 to 4 is the documentary Pearl Harbor: The Truth<\/em>. Premiering on Sunday, December 4, at 10 p.m., Pearl Harbor: The Truth<\/em> is based on the book A Matter of Honor: Betrayal, Blame, and a Family\u2019s Quest for Justice<\/em>, written by Anthony Summers and Robbyn Swan.\u00a0The documentary explores intelligence and military errors that allowed\u00a0early warning signs of the impending Japanese attack to go unnoticed, and also examines the conspiracy theory that President Roosevelt knew about the attack ahead of time. It is produced by Arrow Media and Handel Productions.<\/p>\n Another original, Pearl Harbor: 75 Years Later<\/em>, will premiere on Saturday, December 3, at 9 p.m. Produced by A+E Networks, the program uses accounts from experts, military minds and more to show how the attack on Pearl Harbor continues to shape America today. It explores the biggest stories and lesser-known details related to the infamous attack.<\/p>\n HISTORY will also air a new original short-form series, Pearl Harbor: The Last Word<\/em>, in prime time throughout the weekend. The series was produced as part of the channel\u2019s HISTORY Saves History initiative and documents the experiences of some of the last living survivors of the attack.\u00a0HISTORY is donating the complete interviews to The Library of Congress Veterans History Project.<\/p>\n Encore presentations of the programs will air on HISTORY during the day on December 7, which marks the anniversary of the attack. The\u00a0titles will be available for viewing on demand and via the HISTORY Watch App and History.com on December 5. The HISTORY Vault app will feature a collection of documentaries about Pearl Harbor from the HISTORY library.
