NEW YORK: Spike TV has unveiled Spike Serialized, a new documentary series initiative featuring multi-episode programs that take an in-depth look at various topics or people.<\/p>\n

Spike has given the go-ahead to the docuseries It Was Him<\/em>, which spotlights murderer Ed Edwards through an investigation led by his grandson, Wayne Wolfe, and police detective John Cameron. The six-episode\u00a0program will be produced by Objective Films.<\/p>\n

The network recently announced TIME: The Kalief Browder Story<\/em>, which will also fall under the Spike Serialized banner. The six-parter, due to debut in 2017, comes from executive producer Shawn “Jay Z” Carter and Weinstein Television. It tells the story of the African-American student who spent three years in prison without ever being convicted of a crime.<\/p>\n

The previously revealed\u00a0John McAfee Project<\/em>, slated for broadcast next year, will also be part of Spike Serialized. The six-episode series explores the life of the titular virus software creator, who has been accused of murder. It is\u00a0directed and executive produced by Billy Corben.<\/p>\n
