{"id":9146,"date":"2016-09-13T13:17:25","date_gmt":"2016-09-13T17:17:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/gusto-adds-ten-originals-to-2016-17-lineup\/"},"modified":"2016-09-13T14:48:20","modified_gmt":"2016-09-13T18:48:20","slug":"gusto-unveils-new-programming-for-2016-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/gusto-unveils-new-programming-for-2016-17\/","title":{"rendered":"Gusto Unveils New Programming for 2016-17"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TORONTO: Bell Media\u00a0lifestyle\u00a0channel Gusto has added to its 2016-17 lineup a number of new food-themed series and specials from Gusto Worldwide Media.<\/p>\n<p>From Gusto Worldwide Media are the series <em>The Urban Vegetarian<\/em> (2017) and <em>The Latin Kitchen<\/em> (2017), as well as the hour-long specials <em>Spencer and Robert&#8217;s Game Day Buffet<\/em> (2016), <em>One World Kitchen Bakes the Holidays<\/em> (2016), <em>One World Kitchen: Our Favorite Holiday Recipes<\/em> (2016) and <em>Watts Up for the Holidays: Spencer&#8217;s Ultimate Christmas Recipes<\/em> (2016). These 4K productions, all of which are created by Chris Knight, will begin filming\u00a0this year in Ottawa.<\/p>\n<p>Gusto has also\u00a0ordered\u00a0second seasons for the hit Canadian series <em>A is for Apple<\/em>, <em>Fish the Dish<\/em> and <em>One World Kitchen<\/em> from Gusto Worldwide Media. Premiere dates will be unveiled in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s order underscores our commitment to the success of Gusto and the growth of its original production in this very exciting space,\u201d said Mike Cosentino, the senior VP of\u00a0CTV and specialty at Bell Media. \u201cWe hope that with such a strong production slate we can mine and springboard new audiences into these and other great programs that will comprise our schedule.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGusto is known for its diverse and inviting slate of food programming, and we are thrilled to be working with Chris Knight and his talented team on these new shows to add to the channel\u2019s lineup,\u201d noted Corrie Coe, the senior VP of independent production at Bell Media. \u201cThese series are going to satisfy the cravings of current Gusto fans, and are sure to bring new viewers to the channel; each one is a stylish, appetizing and engaging series.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur partnership with Bell Media now allows us to produce hundreds of hours of high-quality, entertaining, 4K, food and lifestyle programming for years to come,\u201d added\u00a0Knight, the president and CEO of Gusto Worldwide Media. \u201cThis is only the beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Gusto has begun production on <em>The Search for Canada&#8217;s Next Designer<\/em>, a design competition series from Bell Media In-House Production in collaboration with Swedish home-furnishing retailer IKEA. The 6&#215;30-minute show is hosted by design expert Tommy Smythe (<em>The Marilyn Denis Show<\/em>).
