LONDON: A+E Networks UK has commissioned the new documentary series Combat Ships<\/em> for broadcast on H2 early next year.<\/p>\n

Filmed on location across Europe and the U.S., Combat Ships<\/em> uses a combination of interviews, reconstruction, engineering graphics and archive footage to explore the history of\u00a0maritime vessels. The 10×60-minute show, which follows on the success of H2’s broadcast of Combat Trains<\/em> last year, will spotlight such topics as the Ironclads, the first Dreadnought and The Bismarck. It will be internationally distributed by TCB Media Rights.<\/p>\n

Rachel Job, the director of programming for H2 at A+E Networks UK, said: \u201cWe are very excited to be working with [producer] Woodcut Media once again. This compelling series is perfect for the H2 audience\u2019s desire for entertaining factual content that feeds their obsessions and dives deeper into history.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paul Heaney, founder and managing director of TCB Media Rights, noted: \u201cThis is the sort of project distributors love…only because we assume the buyers will. Strong subjects, high volume from an indie that can deliver. Combat Trains<\/em> delivered great ratings internationally and I see Combat Ships<\/em> being plain sailing again!\u201d<\/p>\n
