Filmed before a live studio audience in New York and anchored by host Richard Bacon, <em>Explorer<\/em> will air worldwide on the network in 171 countries and 45 languages.<\/p>\n<p>At the helm of the revamped\u00a0series will be Lou Wallach, formerly of <em>The Colbert Report<\/em> and <em>Talking Dead<\/em>, and Nick McKinney and Meghan O\u2019Hara, who have produced several feature documentaries and who co-created The IFC Media Project.<\/p>\n<p>National Geographic Studios is producing the show.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe feel extremely fortunate to have Lou, Nick and Meghan in place to bring our vision of the new <em>Explorer<\/em> to life,\u201d said Tim Pastore, National Geographic Channel\u2019s president of original programming and production. &#8220;We feel confident that together with host Richard Bacon they are creating an insightful, sharp and, above all, an entertaining program unlike anything currently on TV.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI could not have asked for a better team to join me in rebooting <em>Explorer<\/em>,\u201d said Wallach. \u201cWe all feel an awesome amount of responsibility to the brands of the network and series and, with this incredible group of inventive and energized minds, we are creating something truly groundbreaking.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON, D.C.: National Geographic Channel has set a fall premiere for its reimagined version of Explorer, with a team of veteran showrunners being brought in to tweak the long-running format.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":291,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"pmpro_default_level":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[69],"tags":[116,91],"class_list":["post-8926","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","","category-top-stories","tag-explorer","tag-national-geographic-channel","pmpro-has-access"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.7 -
