SILVER SPRING: Investigation Discovery (ID) has announced it will delay filming the sixth and final episode of its series The Vanishing Women<\/em> in an effort to cover real-time breaks in the show\u2019s case, including the July trial of a suspect.<\/p>\n

The true-crime title\u2019s finale will now air in the fall. The series documents an active investigation into the open cases of four deceased and two missing women from Chillicothe, Ohio. The conclusion will follow law enforcement\u2019s tracking of new tips in the cases and will cover the criminal trial of Jason McCrary this July, who is awaiting his murder trial for the alleged killing of one of the victims.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the leading authority in true-crime programming, Investigation Discovery has the unique opportunity\u2014and, indeed, even the responsibility\u2014to use our platform for The Vanishing Women<\/em> and elevate these cases to a national level,\u201d said Henry Schleiff, group president for Investigation Discovery, American Heroes Channel and Destination America. \u201cWith new leads now coming forward and a criminal trial on the horizon, it is incumbent upon ID to cover these developments for our viewers, so we have decided to return in the fall with our finale to hopefully deliver closure to at least one of the victim\u2019s families.\u201d<\/p>\n
