LONDON: Steven D Wright, who was the first-ever commissioning editor for factual entertainment at Channel 4, is launching his new independent production company Kerfuffle TV under The Hot House, a recently launched creative incubator established by Remy Blumenfeld and Justin Bodle\u2019s Purecom.<\/p>\n
Kerfuffle TV will specialize in factual entertainment, popular factual and entertainment programming. Kerfuffle TV marks the first of several deals for The Hot House, which is meant to give content creators a platform from which to start their own production companies.<\/p>\n
Wright’s previous credits include, at Channel 4, documentaries such as Freddie Starr Ate My Hamster<\/em>, Bernard\u2019s Bombay Dreams<\/em>, The Showbiz Set<\/em> and The Importance of Morrissey<\/em>, along with formats such as Make My Day<\/em>, as well as such factual entertainment classics as Top Ten TV<\/em>, The 100 Worst Britons<\/em> and Sex on TV<\/em>. He also previously served as creative director at Shine, Carbon and Whizz Kid.<\/p>\n Wright commented: \u201cI have known and admired Remy for years and was delighted to align myself with his experience and help. He is a TV producer first and foremost and speaks my language. The Hot House is not out for a fast buck; its purpose is to grow indies organically as creative endeavors, not just cash cows. It\u2019s a great time to start my own indie.
