{"id":8604,"date":"2016-04-26T11:42:06","date_gmt":"2016-04-26T15:42:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/another-season-of-prison-first-last-24-hours-for-sky\/"},"modified":"2016-04-26T11:43:20","modified_gmt":"2016-04-26T15:43:20","slug":"another-season-of-prison-docuseries-for-sky","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/another-season-of-prison-docuseries-for-sky\/","title":{"rendered":"Another Season of Prison Docuseries for Sky"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LONDON: Sky has commissioned STV Productions and GroupM Entertainment to produce a second installment\u00a0of <em>Prison: First &amp; Last 24 Hours<\/em>, a documentary series that explores life behind bars in Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>The new eight-part season will take place in\u00a0four Scottish correctional facilities: HMP Low Moss, HMP Barlinnie, HMP Greenock and HMP Edinburgh. The program tells the stories of inmates\u00a0beginning their first day in jail as well as those who have only 24 hours left of their prison sentence. It is being sold\u00a0around the globe by Sky Vision.<\/p>\n<p>Mick McAvoy, the head of documentaries at STV Productions, stated: \u201cIt is a privilege to be back filming inside Scotland\u2019s prisons and to document the lives of prisoners as they go through the most dramatic days of their jail sentence. The first series was a great success and we\u2019re looking forward to working with GroupM Entertainment and Sky to yet again examine the complex lives of those who find themselves behind bars, reveal the challenges that face the staff in prison and show the reality of life in jail.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tom Fox of the Scottish Prison Service noted: \u201cThis successful series is one of the most authentic portrayals of prison life we\u2019ve ever seen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Siobhan Mulholland, who commissioned the second season of the docuseries\u00a0for Sky, added: \u201cWe hope viewers will again be gripped by the dichotomy <em>Prison: First &amp; Last 24 Hours<\/em> presents them with; insightful, often sad personal stories juxtaposed with the reality of what can be brutal criminal acts.
