BEVERLY HILLS: The original verit\u00e9-style short documentary Extremis<\/em> is set for a global debut on Netflix in September.<\/p>\n

Directed by Academy Award- and Emmy Award-nominated filmmaker Dan Krauss, Extremis<\/em> explores the decisions that doctors, families and patients face in urgent end-of-life cases. Extremis<\/em> is debuting at the Tribeca Film Festival on Sunday and will also run at the San Francisco International Film Festival. It marks Netflix’s first original short documentary.<\/p>\n

\u201cI strive to explore weighty ethical and moral questions through my films,\u201d said Krauss. \u201cDoctors today can sustain life in ways once thought impossible, ushering in new and extremely complex questions about what it means for critically ill people to be kept alive.
