CANNES: VICE Media and CANAL+ Group have entered into a partnership that will see the channel VICELAND become available exclusively to CANALSAT customers when it launches in France this fall.<\/p>\n
VICELAND will feature original lifestyle and culture content for young viewers that will include brand-new VICE-produced French programming covering people, fashion and culture. The 24-hour channel will be programmed, developed and produced entirely in-house by VICE\u2019s creative team, and the channel will be exclusively available to\u00a0CANALSAT customers via\u00a0their basic TV subscription packages either live, on-demand or on-the-go.<\/p>\n
Oscar-winning film director Spike Jonze serves as co-president of VICELAND and oversees the development of the new channel, including show creation, production and brand identity. VICELAND launched in the U.S. and Canada in February and is due to launch in the U.K. and Ireland in September. The channel features hundreds of hours of original programming, including Gaycation<\/em> with Ellen Page and Ian Daniel, Huang\u2019s World<\/em> with Eddie Huang, Noisey<\/em> with Zach Goldbaum, F*ck, That\u2019s Delicious<\/em> with Action Bronson, Weediquette<\/em> with Krishna Andavolu, Balls Deep<\/em> with Thomas Morton and more.<\/p>\n Eddy Moretti, VICE\u2019s chief creative officer and co-president of VICELAND, said: \u201cWe’ve been growing our production in France for the past several years preparing for a day like this\u2014the chance to enter the French market with a 24-hour lifestyle channel which prominently features domestic production.
