Each hour-long episode will focus on stories ripped from the headlines, featuring archival footage, recreations and interviews with key players in the investigations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Real people, real stories\u2014this is at the core of every series we produce at Investigation Discovery,&#8221; said Henry Schleiff, the group president at Discovery Networks. &#8220;It is a natural fit for one of the most trusted brands in reporting, <em>People<\/em> magazine, and Investigation Discovery, the number one home for mystery and suspense on television, to join forces and reveal the truth behind some of the most fascinating stories of our time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are thrilled to team up with Investigation Discovery to re-examine some of the most high-profile crime cases in recent history,&#8221; said Rich Battista, the executive VP of Time Inc. &#8220;This is the first of many exciting TV projects that we have planned for the <em>People<\/em> brand.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Jess Cagle, the editorial director of <em>People<\/em> and <em>Entertainment Weekly<\/em>, added, &#8220;Since <em>People<\/em>&#8216;s debut in 1974, our unique human interest and crime coverage has been enormously popular, and we have increased it in recent years. In all of our crime content, and on all our platforms, <em>People<\/em> pays tribute to the victims, and provides their friends and families an opportunity to tell their stories.
