\n\tCOPENHAGEN: International content studio Pulse Films has partnered with documentary non-profit Britdoc to launch a fund dedicated to championing original non-fiction projects.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Pulse Britdoc Genesis Fund will be awarded to up to ten filmmakers per year without the requirement of seeing footage. The application is open to directors of any nationality living anywhere, though projects must be at the very early stages of development. The first grant will go to filmmaker Khalik Allah, who will receive £5,000 ($7,600) for his upcoming title Jamaica<\/em>. Candidates for the other nine awards must apply by February 29.<\/p>\n \n\t“The Genesis Fund reinforces both Pulse and Britdoc’s dedication to sparking creativity and supporting creators who push the boundaries of their medium,” commented Julia Nottingham, head of documentary at Pulse Films. “We have a strong ethos of collaboration and we are excited to be able to work alongside Britdoc further, to amplify the voices of a new wave of documentary talent.”<\/p>\n \n\t“This is a thrilling time for documentary cinema,” said Britdoc’s Chief Executive Jess Search. “Pulse Films has been supporting some of the most imaginative work in non-fiction storytelling.
