The World Congress of Science & Factual Producers (WCSFP) has unveiled an early look at the 2025 program for its annual event, taking place in Rio from December 8 to 11.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmid uncertainty and change, what stands out are the new opportunities emerging for the industry,\u201d noted Paul Lewis, conference director of WCSFP. \u201cThis year\u2019s program embraces the energy and diversity of the global factual community, innovative funding models, creative partnerships, and bold storytelling strategies that are redefining how factual content reaches audiences around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Among the sessions are \u201cAI\u2019s Got Talent: Today\u2019s Tools, Tomorrow\u2019s Storytellers,\u201d diving into how AI is reshaping production; \u201cCongress Deep Dive: An Industry in Turmoil\u2014What\u2019s Next?,\u201d examining how producers are navigating a rapidly changing factual landscape; \u201cWhere\u2019s the Controversy? Factual Programming Goes on Trial,\u201d challenging the trend of risk-averse programming; and \u201cOne Language, Many Stories: Co-Production in Spanish-Speaking Markets,\u201d exploring cross-border partnerships. Plus, \u201cWhat\u2019s the Buzz\u201d will return with a showcase of standout new productions.<\/p>\n

Confirmed companies taking part include Albatross World Sales, National Geographic, BBC Studios Science Unit, France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions, CBC\/Radio-Canada, Arrow Media, SVT and Grifa Films.<\/p>\n
