{"id":23533,"date":"2025-08-08T10:52:57","date_gmt":"2025-08-08T14:52:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/bbc-reveals-ozzy-osbourne-documentary\/"},"modified":"2025-08-08T12:12:13","modified_gmt":"2025-08-08T16:12:13","slug":"bbc-reveals-ozzy-osbourne-documentary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/bbc-reveals-ozzy-osbourne-documentary\/","title":{"rendered":"BBC Reveals Ozzy Osbourne Documentary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The BBC has revealed <em>Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home,<\/em> a brand-new one-hour documentary premiering August 18.<\/p>\n<p>Filmed over three years, the documentary captures the roller-coaster of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne\u2019s lives as they attempt to complete their long-held dream of moving back to the U.K. Ozzy heroically battles to get fit enough to perform, and the family deal with the dramatic consequences of his ill-health. On July 5, he made it onto the stage one last time to perform a homecoming gig. Just over two weeks later, surrounded by his family, Ozzy died at home.<\/p>\n<p>Originally conceived as a series, <em>Home to Roost<\/em>, announced in 2022, the project evolved as Ozzy\u2019s health deteriorated into a one-hour film, <em>Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are honored to have had the opportunity to film with Ozzy and his family,\u201d said Clare Sillery, BBC head of commissioning for documentaries. \u201cThe film captures an intimate glimpse into their journey as they prepare to return to the UK. It features family moments, humor, reflection and shows the enduring spirit that made Ozzy a global icon. We hope it brings comfort and joy to Ozzy\u2019s fans and viewers as they remember and celebrate his extraordinary life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was an incredible privilege to spend the last few years with Ozzy, as well as Sharon, Jack and Kelly,\u201d said Ben Wicks and Colin Barr, executive producers at Expectation. \u201cOzzy wanted to make it back to the UK and appear on stage one last time\u2014our film is an inspiring and poignant account of him fulfilling that dream. Ozzy was loved by millions around the world not just for his music, but for his sense of mischief and his honesty all of which we saw plenty of in the final years of his life. But one thing shone through even more brightly to us, and that was Ozzy\u2019s intense love for his exceptional family who were by his side through it all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home<\/em> is produced by Expectation in association with JOKS Productions Limited for BBC One and iPlayer.
