Espresso Media International has added six new factual titles to its summer offering, including several WWII documentaries and nature programs.<\/p>\n
The Brighton-based distributor has picked up They Fight With Cameras<\/em>, a 55-minute documentary narrated by Liev Schreiber that presents the WWII experiences of a frontline witness: U.S. Army Signal Corps combat cameraman Walter Rosenblum. Rosenblum recorded war-torn Europe from D-Day to the liberation of Dachau.<\/p>\n The documentary features interview footage by the USC Shoah Foundation, rarely seen motion-picture footage, still photographs and newly discovered personal letters. It comes from Nina Rosenblum, Daniel Allentuck and the production house behind Lock-Up<\/em> and Through the Wire<\/em>.<\/p>\n Espresso has also added Bullets and Blueberries<\/em> to its slate. The history documentary focuses on the hidden aspects of the Holocaust, examining the motives and methods of the perpetrators, including shocking, never-before-seen photographs taken by the killers themselves. It also features an encounter with Benjamin B. Ferencz, who, at just 27, was the chief prosecutor at the Einsatzgruppen Trial.<\/p>\n The documentary\u2019s producer, Erik Nelson, said, \u201cConsidering the gravity and the urgency of this project, we are delighted to be partnering with Espresso to ensure this story has the widest possible platform. It is a difficult but necessary and compelling story that must be told and, more importantly, retold.\u201d<\/p>\n Other new acquisitions include Generation C<\/em>, a four-parter from ReGen C.A.B. that meets the young people who were most shaped by the Covid-19 pandemic and whose resilience is now fueling a movement for change, and Montana Ranchers: The Quest for Harmony<\/em>, showcasing ranchers who balance livestock production with wildlife conservation.<\/p>\n Espresso also licensed two titles from Up On Blue Bridge Productions: Bee-Kept<\/em> and Off The Bench<\/em>. Bee-Kept<\/em> explores the importance of the ancient practice of beekeeping in everything from sustainability to fostering community. Off The Bench<\/em> tells the story of unprecedented collaboration between dozens of medical device companies in the west of Ireland who threw company secret protocols out the window during the Covid-19 pandemic to work together to create life-saving solutions.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are very pleased to be releasing a new slate of diverse summer programming,\u201d said David Hooper, managing director of Espresso Media International. \u201cThe WWII docs are an extremely important addition to our history slate, offering unexplored perspectives on the Holocaust and war photography, respectively.
