{"id":23301,"date":"2025-07-07T11:00:04","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T15:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/woodcut-lands-presales-for-history-docs\/"},"modified":"2025-07-07T11:10:40","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T15:10:40","slug":"woodcut-lands-presales-for-history-docs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/woodcut-lands-presales-for-history-docs\/","title":{"rendered":"Woodcut Lands Presales for History Docs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Woodcut Media has landed presales with Channel 4 in the U.K. and SBS in Australia on the new documentaries <em>Britain\u2019s Railway Empire in Colour<\/em> and <em>The Manhattan Project in Colour<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Manhattan Project in Colour<\/em> has also secured slots with Mediawan for Toute L\u2019Histoire, TV Catalunya, UR in Sweden, Viasat World and Channel 8 in Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Finland&#8217;s YLE picked up both documentaries, which feature newly colorized archives. Jonathan Mayo is series producer, while Kate Beal serves as executive producer on both documentaries, distributed by Woodcut International.<\/p>\n<p>Mayo commented: \u201cThe colorization techniques and restoration of footage for both these historical docs makes the events very real. <em>The Manhattan Project<\/em>, for example, is more than just the story of Robert Oppenheimer but an exploration of the pioneering work of the British nuclear scientists, the birth of the so-called &#8216;Atomic City&#8217; of Oak Ridge that grew out of the Tennessee mud and the story of the thousands who worked there.
