{"id":23279,"date":"2025-07-01T08:00:17","date_gmt":"2025-07-01T12:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/worldscreen.com\/"},"modified":"2025-07-01T11:03:53","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T15:03:53","slug":"disney-adds-three-reality-commissions-to-u-k-unscripted-slate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/disney-adds-three-reality-commissions-to-u-k-unscripted-slate\/","title":{"rendered":"Disney+ Adds Three Reality Commissions to U.K. Unscripted Slate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Disney+ has commissioned three new reality series: <em>Jamie and Sophie: Raising Chelsea<\/em> (w.t.), <em>The Rooneys<\/em> (w.t.) and a reboot of <em>Blind Date<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Jamie and Sophie: Raising Chelsea<\/em> (w.t.), from Dorothy St Pictures in association with Jampot Productions, will follow Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo as they embrace the journey to parenthood while balancing their professional lives, moving into their first home and navigating support and unsolicited advice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor nearly a decade, we\u2019ve brought audiences along the highs and lows of our personal and professional lives through TV, radio, social media and our podcasts,\u201d Laing and Habboo said. \u201cIt\u2019s such an honor to now partner with the incredible teams at Disney+ and Dorothy St Pictures to bring our next chapter to viewers across the globe. Navigating our lives with a baby on the way has opened up a whole new stage of our relationship\u2014we can\u2019t wait to give you a front row seat!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Rooneys<\/em> (w.t.) will center on Coleen and Wayne Rooney as they step into a new chapter in their lives. As Coleen navigates new entrepreneurial endeavors, Wayne will swap training for the school run. It is being produced by Lorton Entertainment and Blast Films.<\/p>\n<p>Also coming to Disney+ in the U.K. is a reboot of <em>Blind Date<\/em>. The dating show will begin in a secret location, where contestants must choose between three potential suitors, hidden from view behind the <em>Blind Date<\/em> wall.<\/p>\n<p>Filming is currently underway on <em>The Rooneys<\/em> and <em>Jamie and Sophie: Raising Chelsea<\/em>, while production is set to begin on <em>Blind Date<\/em> later this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve seen great success over the past couple of years with our Disney+ original unscripted series such as <em>Finding Michael<\/em>, <em>Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story<\/em>, <em>Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story<\/em> and, more recently, <em>Flintoff<\/em>,\u201d said Sean Doyle, executive director of unscripted at Disney+. \u201cOur distinctive offering of combining the most talked-about household names and their incredible life experiences has hit the right note with our audiences, who are looking for authentic and captivating real-life stories.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs our slate evolves, we want to continue working with world-class producers and homegrown talent in the reality space, with a focus on female-skewed factual.
