Hearst Networks UK has unveiled the lineup of star-studded titles that will be premiering on Sky HISTORY throughout the rest of the year.<\/p>\n
In June, Secrets Declassified<\/em>, hosted by David Duchovny (The X-Files<\/em>), will bow on the channel. Using recently declassified CIA documents, Duchovny will uncover some of the most closely guarded government secrets from postwar history across ten episodes.<\/p>\n July will see the premiere of Holy Marvels 2<\/em>, with Dennis Quaid returning to continue uncovering the histories, mysteries and tales of the world\u2019s most sacred and revered relics. Episodes in this new season cover the hunt for the Ark of the Covenant, Noah\u2019s Ark, the Holy Grail, the Fountain of Youth, the Mayan Calendar, the Philosopher\u2019s Stone, the Crown of Thorns and more.<\/p>\n In August, the four-hour documentary event Sitting Bull<\/em> will debut. From executive producers Leonardo DiCaprio, Crystal Echo Hawk, Larry Pourier, Dee Jay Two Bears, and Stephen David, it chronicles the life of the Lakota leader who brought brought General George Armstrong Custer and the United States 7th Cavalry to its knees at the Battle of Little Big Horn in June 1876.<\/p>\n Kevin Costner\u2019s The West<\/em> will make its U.K. premiere in September. The eight-parter sees Costner and historian Doris Kearns Goodwin offer a new perspective on the history of the American West, from the establishment of the United States through its bloody Civil War to today.<\/p>\n Hazardous History<\/em>, hosted by Henry Winkler (Happy Days<\/em>) will bow in November, giving viewers a deep dive into \u201cbelieve it or not\u201d stories from a time before healthy and safety regulations made the world a safer place. It covers everything from doctors prescribing cigarettes and lithium-laced sodas to radioactive toys and toxic refrigerators.<\/p>\n Also coming later this year, Witches of Essex with Rylan and Alice<\/em> features Professor Alice Roberts and Rylan Clark delving into the most prolific spate of witch hunts in British history. Using new investigative techniques and expertise, they explore the 16th- and 17th-century witch trials in Essex.<\/p>\n Original Gangsters with Sean Bean<\/em> will also be debuting later this year. It will explore the rise and fall of some of the most notorious criminals in history, including Al Capone, Stephanie St Clair, Billy Kimber and the real Peaky Blinders, Billy Hill and The Krays.<\/p>\n A Ship Through Time<\/em>, presented by journalist and TV presenter Sean Fletcher, will also be coming to Sky HISTORY to investigate the mystery surrounding the 15th-century Newport Medieval Ship, discovered in the mud of the River Usk in Wales in June 2002.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is a huge pleasure to work with some of the U.K.\u2019s best production companies and third parties on a slate of such quality and breadth,\u201d said Dan Korn, VP of programming at Hearst Networks UK. \u201cThis star-studded U.S., U.K. and international lineup is enabling us to draw the line between the past and the present in more vivid and exciting ways than ever before.
