Debuting this June on HBO and Max, the documentary marks the first time Hargitay has delved into her mother\u2019s story and legacy, almost 60 years after the Hollywood legend\u2019s tragic death.<\/p>\n<p>The film follows Hargitay as she seeks to know, understand and embrace her mother for the first time. Through intimate interviews and a collection of never-before-seen photos and home movies, she grapples with her mother\u2019s public and private legacy and discovers the layers and depth of who Jayne was, not only to her audience but to those who were closest to her.<\/p>\n<p>The documentary is directed and produced by Hargitay, with producer Trish Adlesic and executive producer Lauren Bromley.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Hargitay, along with Adlesic, produced HBO\u2019s Emmy-winning documentary <em>I Am Evidence<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Hargitay said, \u201cThis movie is a labor of love and longing. It\u2019s a search for the mother I never knew, an integration of a part of myself I\u2019d never owned and a reclaiming of my mother\u2019s story and my own truth.
