BBC Studios has named Sreya Biswas to the newly created position of director of programs for its Natural History Unit.<\/p>\n
Biswas joins the Natural History Unit from the BBC, where she is currently head of commissioning for natural history. She oversees some of the biggest factual series on television, including Planet Earth III<\/em>, Asia<\/em>, Kingdom<\/em> and Blue Planet III<\/em>, as well as developing and delivering a broad range of natural history content, including Big Cats 24\/7<\/em>, Hamza\u2019s Hidden Wild Isles<\/em>, Spy in the Troop<\/em> and An Hour on Earth<\/em>.<\/p>\n Prior to her BBC commissioning role, Sreya was an executive producer at Naked Television, based in the U.S., where she oversaw and self-shot the Emmy Award-winning series The Day I Picked My Parents<\/em> for A&E.<\/p>\n At BBC Studios, Biswas is tasked with the continued delivery of a slate of commissioned titles and the development of an ambitious portfolio of new innovative programs for multiple global clients across a variety of platforms. She will be reporting to Jonny Keeling, the NHU\u2019s head, and working closely with its creative director, Mike Gunton.<\/p>\n Biswas will take up her new role this summer.<\/p>\n \u201cAttracting someone of Sreya\u2019s caliber and creative expertise to spearhead our delivery, development and expansion into new content territory is incredibly exciting,\u201d Keeling said. \u201cHer role will be pivotal in diversifying the NHU\u2019s slate, winning new business, whilst maintaining our global reputation for much-loved, ambitious, blue-chip programming.
