The film takes viewers into the heart of the American right-wing militia movement through the perspective of Dakota Adams, the de-radicalized son of Stewart Rhodes, the founder of the Oath Keepers who was sentenced to 18 years in prison for his role in the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.<\/p>\n
The documentary provides access to Stewart himself, as well as Dakota and his mother, Tasha, who tell the story of Stewart\u2019s origins, their beliefs about his descent into paranoia and the family\u2019s escape from his control and influence.<\/p>\n
Over the course of Stewart\u2019s imprisonment so far, a new generation of more radical militia leaders has continued to emerge. This includes Mike Dunn of the Boogaloo Bois, who believes that January 6 was a dress rehearsal for the real civil war that\u2019s coming. As Dakota escapes extremism, Dunn is being drawn in deeper.<\/p>\n
