National Geographic has expanded its editorial leadership team with the addition of Geoffrey Gagnon as VP and executive editor and Alex Pollack as director of photography.<\/p>\n
Gagnon, who joins the company after a decade at GQ, will lead the development and execution of National Geographic\u2019s text content, help oversee the brand\u2019s print products and develop stories for digital platforms. Pollack, who joins from Bustle Digital Group, will oversee photographic commissioning, acquisition and research.<\/p>\n
At GQ, Gagnon was most recently global features director and was previously executive editor of GQ U.S.<\/em> He focused on feature stories and profiles and helped lead the brand\u2019s film and television efforts with GQ Studios. Prior to that, he played a key role in launching Politico<\/em> Magazine and worked as a senior editor at The Atlantic<\/em>.<\/p>\n Pollack most recently served as group photo director at Bustle Digital Group, overseeing all aspects of photography in digital and print across seven media brands, including Bustle and Nylon. Before that, she spent two years contracting with Apple and served as the visual director of Goop\u2019s printed magazine and freelance visual director at Goop Digital.
