The new series, currently in development, will tap Rubenstein\u2019s access to the industry&#8217;s designers, producers and stars for a tour through the closets of series and characters.<\/p>\n<p>Rubenstein commented: \u201cI\u2019ve chronicled style in magazines, at fashion\u2019s capitals and on the red carpet, but no source has ever matched television\u2019s ever-increasing influence, inspiring our wardrobes for work, being at home, going on a date, taking a vacation or getting ready for a big night out. Writing <em>Dressing the Part<\/em> was a joyous endeavor; I couldn\u2019t believe no book had ever celebrated the power of TV costume design, its incredible artists and the decades of enviable clothes they\u2019ve created. The only thing that could be more exciting and rewarding is to now use the television medium to showcase its own potent, savvy, sometimes silly but often dazzling power over what we hang in our closets. This is going to be fun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA docuseries on this topic, charting 70 years of trendsetting television\u2014with an eye on fashion\u2014is long overdue,\u201d said Laura Palumbo Johnson, Magilla co-founder. \u201cThe only person with the access, expertise and gravitas to anchor a series like this is Hal Rubenstein.
