National Geographic has begun to amp up its digital offering by expanding its portfolio of YouTube content with a new Spanish-language channel and fresh series.<\/p>\n
The launch of the brand’s fourth YouTube channel, Nat Geo En Espa\u00f1ol, is the first of its major social strategy changes. In addition to the new YouTube channel, the team is developing and launching a new slate of YouTube originals, beginning with Azza and Zoc Do Earth <\/em>and The Crux.<\/em><\/p>\n While Azza and Zoc Do Earth<\/em> debuted on August 6, The Crux<\/em> premiered with its first two episodes last week. The next two episodes are set to launch on August 29. The Crux<\/em>, produced with the support of the International Federation of Sport Climbing, gives viewers a raw behind-the-scenes look into the unique journey that several climbers went through as they competed for a spot at the 2024 Olympic Games. The series is presented by The North Face and produced by ThinkLess Studio and Little Monster Films.<\/p>\n In development and slated for release in late fall is the new travel show Superskilled with Eva zu Beck<\/em>, which will feature zu Beck, an adventurer and prominent YouTube storyteller.<\/p>\n “As we continue to refine our digital strategy to meet our fans where they are, this is an important step in the planned enhancement of our social presence and digital offerings,” said David Miller, executive VP of National Geographic. “So many in our fan base connect with us on social, and we are committed to bringing them unique content and stories that represent the best of Nat Geo, while expanding the type of storytelling we deliver across platforms.”<\/p>\n Tulani Andr\u00e9, VP of social media at National Geographic, added, “Growing our YouTube presence to include a dedicated Spanish-language channel is the latest example of how National Geographic as a brand is increasing engagement and visibility in the social space.
