It explores events that took place under the CLAP domestic aid initiative during the presidency of Nicol\u00e1s Maduro.<\/p>\n<p>Deniz and his colleagues uncovered that the CLAP initiative itself was enriching a close associate of Maduro\u2019s, Alex Saab.<\/p>\n<p>Facing threats, harassment and possible jail time for their reporting, Deniz and his colleagues made the decision to flee Venezuela.
