{"id":21389,"date":"2024-05-10T10:23:57","date_gmt":"2024-05-10T14:23:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/spain-portugal-deals-for-otf\/"},"modified":"2024-05-10T11:34:18","modified_gmt":"2024-05-10T15:34:18","slug":"spain-portugal-deals-for-otf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/spain-portugal-deals-for-otf\/","title":{"rendered":"Spain &#038; Portugal Deals for OTF"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Off the Fence (OTF) has secured a raft of deals with broadcasters in Spain and Portugal, including for the six-part series <em>Cursed Histories<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Season one of <em>Cursed Histories<\/em>, which emerged from OTF&#8217;s partnership with Canada\u2019s Super Channel and Go Button Media, is headed to Warner Bros. Discovery&#8217;s Spanish channel DMAX. Warner Bros. Discovery in Spain also opted for two Big Media productions: <em>Hitler&#8217;s Secret Missions<\/em> and season one of <em>Truthseekers<\/em>, which was co-produced with RMC Story.<\/p>\n<p>The deals, brokered by Emilia Gil Villegas, OTF\u2019s sales manager for Iberia, Latin America and Hispanic U.S., also see <em>Cursed Histories<\/em> headed to AMC Networks International Southern Europe for Spain and Portugal, along with two seasons of <em>Truthseekers<\/em>. The AMC Iberian channels will also air <em>How to Lose a War<\/em>, produced by Wildbear Entertainment and Cut2Clock.<\/p>\n<p>Also from Wildbear and Cut2Clock, the four-part <em>Wild Battleground<\/em> has been picked up by RTVE, while Portuguese pubcaster RTP opted for the travel and adventure title\u00a0<em>Exposure<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>OTF also clinched two volume deals in the U.S. Spanish-language sector with HITN and 2042 Media. HITN scored 65 hours, including Meteorica Cine\u2019s <em>The Great Way<\/em> and Pernel Media\u2019s <em>Butterflies: Superheroes of Nature<\/em>. OTF sold 195 hours to 2042 Media&#8217;s Family Central Explorer TV channel, including <em>A Game of Leopard Thrones<\/em>, <em>March of the Elephants<\/em> and<em> Our Big Blue Backyard<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Stefanie Fischer, OTF\u2019s managing director of sales, said: \u201cDocumentary has traditionally been a difficult sell into the Latin speaking markets, with their love of sport, celebrity and reality. But these sales indicate that today\u2019s documentaries can rival any genre in terms of pace, narrative and drama.
