The Mysteries of the Pyramids<\/em> (w.t.), a new docuseries with comedian and presenter Dara O\u0301 Briain at the helm, is being prepped by Wildflame Productions for Channel 5.<\/p>\n

The 2×60-minute title will see O\u0301 Briain, archaeologist Raksha Dave and Egyptologist Dr. Chris Naunton explore some of the questions surrounding the pyramids, as well as some of the more far-fetched theories.<\/p>\n

O\u0301 Briain said: \u201cWhat a joy to explore these great monuments to human ingenuity and effort, to sort out the amazing facts from the many\u2014frankly ridiculous\u2014fictions that surround them, but mainly to live out all my Indiana Jones fantasies, scrambling in sandy tunnels in search of treasure, just without all the Nazis or the snakes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Denise Seneviratne, commissioning editor for non-scripted U.K. originals for Channel 5, commented: \u201cTo this day, the Pyramids hold so much mystery\u2014I\u2019ve always had a bit of an obsession with them. I think Dara O\u0301 Briain will bring his unique blend of genuine curiosity and wit to this series, and I\u2019m delighted to be working with Wildflame to bring it to life.\u201d<\/p>\n
