At age 35, after four Academy Award nominations and a best actress win at the New York Film Critics Circle, she suddenly retired and never acted again.<\/p>\n<p>Until the end of her life, Garbo declined all opportunities to return to the screen, shunned all publicity and even refused to collect an Academy Honorary Award at the age of 50.<\/p>\n<p>Embankment Films will delve into one of the most mysterious, complex, fearless and melancholic Hollywood icons.<\/p>\n<p><em>Garbo: Leave Me Alone<\/em> is being co-produced with Mylla Films and comes from director Lorna Tucker (<em>Westwood: Punk<\/em>,<em> Icon Activist<\/em>, <em>Am\u00e1<\/em>, <em>Call Me Kate<\/em>). Fremantle is handling worldwide sales for the film, which will air on Sky Arts in the U.K. next year after its theatrical release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s so much I want to know about this incredible woman,\u201d Tucker said. \u201cWhy did she walk away? Did she find answers to the questions she was searching for? What did \u2018being alone\u2019 mean to her? Did she find something that resembled peace?
