Paramount+ has commissioned the two-part docuseries Melissa Etheridge: I\u2019m Not Broken<\/em>, about the titular Grammy Award-winning musician and her recent activism for incarcerated women.<\/p>\n

The series chronicles how Etheridge penned an original song inspired by letters sent by five women incarcerated in the Topeka Correctional Facility in her hometown. Having recently lost her son to opioids, Etheridge works to understand and break the cycle of addiction while bonding with the women through music.<\/p>\n

The docuseries, directed by Brian Morrow and Amy Scott, also explores themes of redemption, generational trauma, grief and healing.<\/p>\n

Melissa Etheridge: I\u2019m Not Broken<\/em> is being produced by Shark Pig Studios in association with BMG Films and Primary Wave Music. It will debut on Paramount+ later this year.<\/p>\n

The two-parter is being produced by Jonathan Lynch for Shark Pig Studios and executive produced by Kathy Rivkin Daum and William Kennedy for BMG Films; Deb Klein for Primary Wave Music; Bruce Gillmer and Michael Maniaci for MTV Entertainment Studios; and Etheridge.<\/p>\n
