{"id":20638,"date":"2024-01-05T13:33:31","date_gmt":"2024-01-05T18:33:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/off-the-fence-presells-silverback\/"},"modified":"2024-01-05T13:33:58","modified_gmt":"2024-01-05T18:33:58","slug":"off-the-fence-presells-silverback","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/off-the-fence-presells-silverback\/","title":{"rendered":"Off the Fence Presells Silverback"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Factual content specialist Off the Fence (OTF) has made a raft of presales for its latest feature-length documentary, <em>Silverback<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deals for the 90-minute film, set to debut on the BBC and France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions on January 7 and 8, respectively, have been closed with U.S. streamer Xumo and three European public broadcasters: Austria\u2019s ORF, Sweden\u2019s UR and Finland\u2019s Yle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The doc follows Congo-born wildlife cameraman Vianet Djenguet as he joins the effort to protect his country\u2019s critically endangered eastern lowland gorillas, primarily focusing on the habituation of Mpungwe, an alpha-male gorilla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Silverback<\/em> is produced by OTF Studios in association with the BBC, France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions, Featuristic Films and The WNET Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Andrew Zikking, managing director of OTF Studios, said: &#8220;<em>Silverback<\/em> started as a film about trying to save a species from extinction, but the director\u2019s obs-doc approach allowed it to evolve into many unexpected directions, including the impact of poverty, ideas around identity, family and masculinity.
