UKTV\u2019s recommission represents the highest number of episodes ever ordered by the network for one program at one time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m so pleased we can demonstrate our commitment to Air TV, the Mathewsons and our viewers with such a large order of episodes for <em>Bangers &amp; Cash<\/em>,\u201d \u00a0said Kirsty Hanson, commissioning editor at UKTV. \u201cIt\u2019s such a pleasure to work on the <em>Bangers &amp; Cash<\/em> franchise, and I\u2019m personally very excited to continue our collaboration across the next few years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m delighted that UKTV have committed to creating so many new series of <em>Bangers &amp; Cash<\/em> and <em>Restoring Classics<\/em>,\u201d commented Andy Joynson, executive producer of the series for Air TV. \u201cThere really is a limitless supply of astonishing cars out there for the Mathewsons to feature, restore and auction. It\u2019s a privilege to be able to spend more time making a program we love making.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gerald Casey, director of Yesterday, added, \u201c<em>Bangers<\/em> is at the heart of the Yesterday schedule, and it\u2019s a phenomenal achievement to be able to recommission so many new series at once. We\u2019re proud that we can continue to make a program that resonates with such a large audience and continues to excite both Yesterday and UKTV Play viewers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Derek Mathewson, head of the Mathewson family, said, \u201cMore <em>Bangers &amp; Cash<\/em>? Well, it\u2019s amazing, isn\u2019t it? Who would have thought it? I thought we\u2019d have done a series. Two would have been a bonus. But then again, now I realize the popularity of the show. The amount of people who visit us and say they\u2019ve come specifically to see the place from TV, and they\u2019re so enthusiastic about it.
