{"id":19310,"date":"2023-02-13T10:59:12","date_gmt":"2023-02-13T15:59:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/uncanny-podcast-adapted-tv\/"},"modified":"2023-02-13T10:59:12","modified_gmt":"2023-02-13T15:59:12","slug":"uncanny-podcast-being-adapted-for-tv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/uncanny-podcast-being-adapted-for-tv\/","title":{"rendered":"Uncanny Podcast Being Adapted for TV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds paranormal podcast <em>Uncanny<\/em> is being adapted for TV by BBC Studios Documentary Unit.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by Danny Robins, creator of the <em>Uncanny<\/em> podcast, the TV version will feature real stories of supernatural encounters told by the people they happened to, followed by analysis from experts and investigations into possible explanations.<\/p>\n<p><em>Uncanny<\/em> the TV series is being produced for BBC Two and iPlayer, with Joe Myerscough as series producer and director.<\/p>\n<p>Robins said: \u201cI&#8217;ve been blown away by the response to <em>Uncanny<\/em>. We\u2019ve built an incredible community around the show, many of whom never realized how interested in the paranormal they were! I&#8217;m incredibly excited to get the chance to both continue the podcast and adapt it for TV, as we explore that biggest of all questions: Do ghosts exist? I promise it will be scary and fascinating in equal measure\u2014so, do you dare watch?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jack Bootle, head of commissioning for specialist factual at BBC, commented: \u201c<em>Uncanny<\/em> is a sensational podcast that has proved to be a huge hit on BBC Sounds, and it\u2019s going to be every bit as spine-chilling when it makes the transition to BBC Two and iPlayer later this year. Watch it with the lights on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rhian Roberts, commissioning editor for podcasts, formats and digital at BBC Radio 4, added: \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to give <em>Uncanny<\/em> fans a whole new way to scare themselves silly.
