{"id":18974,"date":"2022-11-08T09:02:01","date_gmt":"2022-11-08T14:02:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/new-doc-fyre-festival-founder-billy-mcfarland\/"},"modified":"2022-11-08T13:41:52","modified_gmt":"2022-11-08T18:41:52","slug":"new-doc-on-fyre-festival-founder-billy-mcfarland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/new-doc-on-fyre-festival-founder-billy-mcfarland\/","title":{"rendered":"New Doc on Fyre Festival Founder Billy McFarland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AMPLE Entertainment and Fremantle are working together on the documentary feature <em>After the Fyre<\/em>, which will follow infamous Fyre Festival founder and convicted felon Billy McFarland as he is released from prison.<\/p>\n<p><em>After the Fyre<\/em>, which has already started principal photography, accompanies McFarland as he re-emerges in the outside world after serving four years of his six-year prison sentence after scandalously defrauding investors, partners and attendees of the promised-but-botched luxurious music event that took place in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The original feature documentary will pick up where both Netflix\u2019s <em>Fyre<\/em> and Hulu\u2019s <em>Fyre Fraud<\/em> left off. It will accompany the disgraced entrepreneur as he launches his next business venture and attempts to pay back the $26 million dollars he still owes.<\/p>\n<p>The film is directed by AMPLE Entertainment\u2019s co-founders, Ari Mark and Phil Lott (<em>The Invisible Pilot<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Harry Gamsu, VP of acquisitions at Fremantle, said: \u201cAfter a considerable amount of time in solitary, millennial\u2019s favorite conman Billy McFarland has re-emerged, energized and with an even more audacious plan than the last as he looks to clear his name and repay his debtors.
