Debuting on Channel 4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Channel 4 has slated Noah Media Group\u2019s <em>1966: Who Stole The World Cup?<\/em> to premiere on November 14.<\/p>\n<p>The 60-minute film, narrated by Alan Ford (<em>Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels<\/em>; <em>Snatch<\/em>), tells the real story of the disappearance of the Jules Rimet trophy weeks before the 1966 World Cup tournament. The statuette was eventually retrieved by a dog named Pickles, but what happened to it during the days it was missing has been a mystery until now.<\/p>\n<p><em>1966: Who Stole The World Cup?<\/em> is produced and directed by Noah Media Group\u2019s Richard Milway (<em>Academies: Santos<\/em>) and Marcus Liversedge (<em>British As Folk<\/em>). <em>1966: Who Stole The World Cup?<\/em> is one of three further documentary projects upcoming from Noah and Channel 4, who previously collaborated on the 2019 Adam Hills documentary <em>Take His Legs<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>John McKenna, CEO of Noah Media Group, said: \u201cThe story of what happened to the World Cup in 1966 is quite incredible! I am delighted that the Noah team has been able to bring this to life in such an entertaining, stranger-than-fiction style. We\u2019re also very happy to be once again partnering with Channel 4 to bring this story to audiences across the U.K.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Will Rowson for Channel 4 added: \u201cI\u2019m delighted to have commissioned this film. Like most football fans, I could tell you the name of the dog who found the World Cup, but there\u2019s so much more to this story than Pickles! It\u2019s told here in a really entertaining and imaginative way.
