Prime Video has greenlit the three-part docuseries Good Neighbors<\/em>, which explores the rivalry between the Mexican and American national men\u2019s soccer teams.<\/p>\n

Good Neighbors<\/em> will peel back the many layers of the 30-year rivalry, spotlighting the personal and professional arcs of stars from each nation, including Landon Donovan from the U.S. and Mexico\u2019s Rafa M\u00e1rquez. It is slated to debut this fall around the 2022 FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n

Over its three episodes, Good Neighbors<\/em> will also examine the international battle for on-field talent and fan support. Both teams have qualified for this year\u2019s World Cup, which will kick off in November in Qatar.<\/p>\n

Good Neighbors<\/em> is a co-production from Prime Video Sports and Skydance Sports, with Meadowlark Media and Ocellated producing. The series is directed by Academy Award-nominated Nicaraguan filmmaker Gabriel Serra.<\/p>\n

Matt Newman, head of Prime Video\u2019s original sports content, said: \u201cWith anticipation building for the World Cup, we’re thrilled to bring audiences this incredible docuseries about the electric rivalry between these cross-border national teams. Good Neighbors<\/em> is the first in an exciting new slate of original sports programming Prime Video Sports will be rolling out over the next several years. Marie Donoghue, VP of global sports video at Amazon, said: \u201cGood Neighbors<\/em> is the type of global storytelling we\u2019re delighted to bring to our Prime Video customers, as we continue to expand our slate of scripted and unscripted sports programming to complement our marquee live sports offerings.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jon Weinbach, president of Skydance Sports, said: \u201cThe U.S.-Mexico rivalry is a fantastic, multilayered narrative that is both timely and timeless, and we\u2019re incredibly excited and grateful for the opportunity to work with Prime Video Sports, Meadowlark and Ocellated in bringing this story to a global audience.\u201d<\/p>\n
