Sports-focused production company NEO Studios and Italian studio Roma Press have partnered with Diego Maradona Jr. for a docuseries about his late father, football star Diego Maradona.<\/p>\n
He Was My Father<\/em> (w.t.) will chronicle Maradona Jr.\u2019s experience growing up as the unknown son of the famous football player, who denied paternity for three decades before publicly acknowledging Maradona Jr. as his son for the first time in 2016.<\/p>\n The two were able to strengthen their relationship for four years before Maradona passed in 2020. The series will also follow Maradona Jr., who was unable to attend his father\u2019s funeral due to Covid-19, as he travels to Argentina to gain insight into his father\u2019s life off the pitch.<\/p>\n He Was My Father will feature never-before-released recordings of Maradona, as well as interviews with his family, friends and former teammates who offer untold stories about the footballer.<\/p>\n \u201cMy father lived in the public eye, with all the controversy and speculation that goes along with that,\u201d Maradona Jr. said. \u201cThough it was a challenging road, it was also a great one that ultimately brought us together.
