Sky has appointed Tom Barry as commissioning editor for its documentaries and factual department.<\/p>\n

Barry, who will start in the position in June, will support Poppy Dixon, director of documentaries and factual, in bringing premium, original features and multipart series to Sky Documentaries, Sky Crime and Sky Nature. He will be a part of the team responsible for such series as Liverpool Narcos<\/em>, Bruno v Tyson<\/em>, Shark with Steve Backshall<\/em>, TINA<\/em>, Murder in the Valleys<\/em> and The Return: Life After ISIS<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Barry previously spent seven years at Raw, most recently as the director of programs for U.K. factual. He has executive produced such documentaries as Three Identical Strangers<\/em>, Chris Packham: Asperger\u2019s and Me<\/em>, Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy<\/em>, Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico<\/em> and Paddy and Christine McGuinness: Our Family and Autism<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Dixon said: \u201cTom is a hugely respected executive producer in the industry, with a stellar track record. I\u2019ve had the pleasure of working with Tom in his role at Raw and have been impressed with his talent and the rich roster of titles he has overseen. I am delighted to be welcoming him to the factual commissioning team here at Sky.\u201d<\/p>\n
