{"id":17635,"date":"2022-02-16T10:22:05","date_gmt":"2022-02-16T15:22:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/world-wonder-reveals-drag-band-docuseries\/"},"modified":"2022-02-16T10:22:05","modified_gmt":"2022-02-16T15:22:05","slug":"world-of-wonder-reveals-drag-band-docuseries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvreal\/world-of-wonder-reveals-drag-band-docuseries\/","title":{"rendered":"World of Wonder Reveals Drag Band Docuseries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>World of Wonder is set to premiere its new docuseries <em>Frockumentary<\/em>, following The Frock Destroyers drag band, on March 15 on WOW Presents Plus.<\/p>\n<p>The Frock Destroyers is comprised of <em>RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race UK<\/em> alumni Baga Chipz, Divina DeCampo and Blu Hydrangea. <em>Frockumentary<\/em> charts the ups and downs of the drag queens as they record, release and perform their debut album, all while navigating the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The music group was formed as part of the girl band challenge in 2019&#8217;s <em>RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race UK<\/em>. The Frock Destroyers&#8217; debut album was made with Leland, Freddy Scott and Gabe Lopez, all composers, songwriters and longtime collaborators on <em>RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Frockumentary<\/em> is executive produced by Randy Barbato, Fenton Bailey and Tom Campbell for World of Wonder and is produced as part of WOW Docs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow more than ever we need \u2018Big Frock Destroyer Energy\u2019 to save the world,\u201d said Bailey and Barbato, co-founders of World of Wonder. \u201cDocumenting the journey of these queens is like trying to capture lightning in a bottle\u2014the tiniest spark is all you need to make it great TV; their liveliness is infectious! This series is everything we love about documentary-making\u2014you never know what\u2019s going to happen and you can be surprised by what you find.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Baga Chipz, Divina DeCampo and Blu Hydrangea said, \u201cAre you prepared to be Frock Destroyed&#8230;again? We all had so much fun on this project, it seems only fitting that we share the story of how it was made with our fans.
