Former Lion TV executive Bill Locke has been appointed head of original programming at Little Dot Studios’ History Hit.<\/p>\n

In the newly created position, Locke will be responsible for overseeing development and executive producing the delivery of series and singles as the company increases its investment in original programming to more than 60 hours per year.<\/p>\n

Locke will report directly to Dan Snow, co-founder and creative director of History Hit.<\/p>\n

Prior to this, Locke spent 20 years at the All3Media sister company Lion TV, most recently as director of specialist factual. He has made films for BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Channel 5, Sky, ARTE, France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions, HISTORY, National Geographic, Smithsonian, PBS and TRT (Turkey).<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we began the search for a new head of original programming, we could only have dreamed that we would find someone of Bill\u2019s caliber and passion to join the team,\u201d said Snow. \u201cWith his rich background steeped in traditional broadcast, we have no doubt that he will be able to take our output to another level\u2014deepening our relationship with our loyal history fans but also engaging and converting new digital audiences through the power of quality storytelling.\u201d<\/p>\n
