The documentary spotlighting the prize will launch on discovery+ on October 3 and on Discovery in the U.S. on October 16.<\/p>\n<p>The Prize is centered on five Earthshots\u2014Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans, Build a Waste-Free World and Fix Our Climate\u2014goals for the planet that, if achieved by 2030, will improve life for everyone. Discovery is the global broadcast partner for The Earthshot Prize, for which the first-ever ceremony will be held on October 17.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Earthshot Prize: Repairing Our Planet<\/em> showcases the five Earthshot challenges facing the planet and highlights the work of the 15 Prize Finalists and their solutions to environmental challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Nancy Daniels, chief brand officer of Discovery and factual, said: \u201cWe are honored to partner with The Royal Foundation and our friends at BBC to bring this important work to people around the world. The crisis facing our planet has only become even more urgent. It is crucial that we amplify these hopeful stories of innovation to preserve our natural world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prince William said: &#8220;Over half a century ago, President Kennedy\u2019s \u2018Moonshot\u2019 program united millions of people around the goal of reaching the moon. Inspired by this, The Earthshot Prize aims to mobilize collective action around our unique ability to innovate, problem-solve and repair our planet. I am honored to introduce the 15 innovators, leaders and visionaries who are the first-ever finalists for The Earthshot Prize.
